Marshall Joos

Marshall Joos is a high school sophomore from Somersworth, NH. He began studying the organ under Lorrie Dodson four years ago with the help of the Young Organist Collaborative (YOC), a non-profit program designed to invest in the next generation of organists. In both 2016 & 2017, he competed & won the YOC's Penn Brown Scholarship for Advanced Organ Study. Most recently, Marshall competed and received 2nd place and the Audience Choice Award at the L. Cameron Johnson Scholarship Competition in CT. He has enjoyed playing in different concerts throughout New England, most notably on the organ at Methuen Memorial Music Hall (MA) and the Kotzschmar Organ (ME). Marshall plays both piano and organ regularly at Heritage Baptist Church in Dover, NH and participates in both the adult and teen choirs. In his free time, he enjoys composing and improvising on both the piano and organ, and spending time with his family. Marshall is thrilled to be a part of the Boston Organ Studio and is looking forward to learning much from Christian Lane in the next few years.
