Alex Buiel

A Boston native, Alexander began studying piano at age five and shortly afterwards began lessons on the pipe organ. As a child, he attended St. Paul’s Choir School in Harvard Square and studied organ at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. He has studied with John Dunn, Philip Jones, Thomas Bara, and improvisation with Peter Krasinski. His first position as resident organist was at St. Paul’s Episcopal church in Brockton, MA at age twelve. He has since served as organist at Trinity Church in Randolph, MA, St. Gerard Majella Parish in Canton, MA, and St. Anne’s Church in Readville, MA. He is currently continuing his organ studies under the supervision of Brandon Santini. Congruent to his classical and liturgical performance in piano and organ, he is proficient in jazz and contemporary music and has recorded and played extensively with countless musicians and groups. With a passion for electronic instruments and music, much of his work across genres incorporates technology into traditionally analog spaces.
